The figure of the Spanish guerrilla fighter enrolled in Napoleon’s Imperial forces presents a problematic analysis. Basically there is no clear cut between the concepts of guerrilla fighter and pro-French supporter in all Spanish and foreign historiography. The study of the guerrilla struggles throughout Northeast Catalonia will present us with a far more complex and accurate view of this peculiar type of warfare experienced during the Peninsula War of 1808-1814.
